What the calculator does

Start with a pounds-and-ounces scale reading or a kilogram reading. The result shows decimal pounds, mixed pounds and ounces, kilograms, and total ounces.

Weight formulas

total pounds = pounds + ounces ÷ 16

kilograms = total pounds × 0.45359237

Example package

A parcel weighing 5 lb 12 oz is 5.75 lb in decimal form. That equals 92 oz or approximately 2.608156 kg.

Measured weight versus billable weight

The dimensional tool applies length × width × height ÷ divisor using the values you enter. Billable weight is commonly based on the greater of actual and dimensional weight, but carriers can use different divisors, rounding increments, minimums, and service rules.

Questions people ask

Does this calculate shipping price?

No. It converts measured weight only and does not connect to carrier rate APIs.

Can ounces be greater than 16?

Yes. They are included in the total and normalised in the mixed-unit result.

What is dimensional weight?

It is a size-based value calculated from package dimensions and a carrier-supplied divisor. Confirm the current formula and divisor before purchasing postage.
